Weather conditions from scuba diver's perspective
Weather conditions in the Galapagos islands are defined by two clearly different tropical seasons, wet and dry. The wet season, which is warm and has plenty of sunny days, lasts from December to May. The dry season is windy, it has fewer sunny days, and extends from June to November. Between these there come the months of January, April and May, during which the weather is transitional. During the warm season the sea is very calm, no winds, which means good underwater visibility and, consequently, better conditions for scuba diving. The winds, characteristic to the dry season, often make sea surface choppy and the underwater visibility decreased.
