Scuba diving at Ham reef, one of Islamorada's numerous dive sitesThere are tens of dive sites at Islamorada ranging in depth between 25ft and 115ft, suitable for all levels of scuba divers with depths ranging between 25ft and 115ft. One of the most popular Islamorada's dive sites is Ham (or Ham reef), where the maximum depth reaches 35 feet only, which means you need just PADI's Open Water scuba diver certification to dive there. In fact, Ham is a small coral reef of circular shape. It's place to watch nurse sharks during your dive there, since the nurse sharks have chosen Ham to inhabit it. Thert are lots of them at Ham, and scuba diver is guaranteed to see several of species during a single dive. Other marine life at Ham include stingrays, sea turtles, lobsters, green moray eels, very big speceis of crabs etc. In summer water temperature at Ham Reef is around 75 Degrees, the underwater visibility you normally expect ranges 25 to 40 ft.
