Scuba Driving vs Scuba Diving
Car that can both drive and dive underwater
New concept car model "sQuba" has been developed by the Swiss Company Rinspeed, becoming the world's first environment friendly diving car. This funny convertible car provoked much irony as for its usefulness, as well as many humorous remarks, particularly from behalf of scuba divers, like comparing the idea of inventing and constructing such a car to the idea of drilling hole in one's knee to grow a parsley from it. :) Anyway, when sQuba was presented to the public for the first time at the Geneva Motor Show on March 16, 2008, it did arouse curiosity and attracted universal attention of the visitors. The car has different engines: one engine is for driving on the roads with maximum speed of 120 km/h (75 mph), and the other two for underwater propulsion with the speed of floating 6 km/h (3.7 mph) at maximum depth of 10 meters (33 feet). The car is very different from military amphibious vehicles that are very heavy and therefore slow-moving while on the surface. So far the car exists as a working prototype only, and has not yet been sheduled for production. According to Rinderknecht, the founder of Rinspeed and the author of the idea of building the diving car, it is expected to "cost less than a Rolls-Royce" and will be promoted on the automarket sooner as toy for the rich. Maybe as alternative to becoming scuba diver?
We guess this dive car video will be of little interest for new car dealers, but will be of interest for you!
